Guiding women through the emotional challenges inherent to matrescence so they can show up as confident mothers.
No one told you how hard this could be.
Your reproductive story has been with you since the idea of having a baby took hold— far longer than you realize. Conflicting emotions, anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts are all part of the mosaic that we weren’t warned about— a reality experienced by 1 in 5 mothers in America. We write our reproductive story to be beautiful and don’t know what do to when things go awry.
You’ve been told to “just be happy, you have a baby!” and “you can try again” but no one understands your experience. That’s where I come in…
Hi I’m Liz
Founder of Silver Compass Therapy, mother, and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker supporting women’s mental health across the reproductive journey. I was one of the 1 in 5 who experienced postpartum anxiety and depression after the birth of my first child. I learned how difficult it can be to recognize when you need support—which inspired me to create the kind of care I wish I would have had. Therapy is a partnership, with you as the expert on your own life. My role is to guide you along the way.

FAQ
-
Perinatal therapy is designed specifically for the changes that happen during pregnancy and postpartum with special attention given to the array of changes faced by women and mothers. We integrate reproductive mental health training and awareness of medical and hormonal factors that general therapy might not be skilled to offer.
-
No. Many women seek support simply because life’s hard! Your body, identity, role, and home environment are all changing, which is enough of a reason to talk about it. You do not need a diagnosis to benefit from therapy. If while working together we feel a diagnosis is appropriate we will figure it out together.
-
Your first session is a space to talk through what you’ve been experiencing and to get a feel for whether working with Silver Compass feels like the right match. You can expect to answer personal questions and open up about things you may not have shared before. Together, we’ll explore your concerns, clarify your goals, and start building an understanding of the context surrounding your reproductive journey.
-
All services are online through a HIPAA compliant telehealth platform. At this time we are only servicing individuals living in Massachusetts.
-
Of course! While you are encouraged to attend sessions free from distractions, we understand that life happens. Children, nursing newborns, pumping equipment, messy living rooms, are all welcome.

Silver Compass Therapy does not accept insurance, and this choice is intentional.
Working outside of insurance allows for greater privacy and control over your care. When insurance is involved, companies—and sometimes employers through benefits plans—can access diagnostic information, treatment dates, and other details about your mental health. By remaining out‑of‑network, your records stay between you and your therapist, not filtered through a third party.
This also creates more flexibility in treatment. Insurance companies often limit the number of sessions, require specific diagnoses, or dictate what “medically necessary” care looks like. Without those restrictions, therapy can move at the pace that truly fits your needs, focusing on what feels most important in your life and reproductive journey—not just what meets insurance criteria.
-
No, this isn’t just postpartum support, and it’s not limited to postpartum depression. Silver Compass Therapy works with women throughout pregnancy, postpartum, and the full perinatal period. Some clients come in with specific concerns like postpartum depression, OCD, or anxiety, while others seek support for identity shifts, relationship changes, birth preparation, or the emotional transitions that come with early parenthood.
-
Yes! Because we are out-of-network the red tape surrounding diagnosis and “medical necessity” are removed. Your desire to talk through things is valid and deserves attention.
